Reform of the Uniform Code of Military Justice To Eliminate Bias Against Rape and Sexual Assault Victims
Beginning in February 2011, Burke and her firm began a long-term project focused on eradicating retailation against active duty soldiers and officers who are raped or assaulted while serving our nation. On behalf of Kori Cioca and 27 other rape survivors, we filed a lawsuit in Virginia federal court that was featured in a documentary called “The Invisible War.” The Law Offices of Susan L. Burke continue to file federal lawsuits, and also work with members of Congress to reform the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
If you were raped or sexually assaulted while on active duty in 2002 or later, you may be able to join the ongoing efforts. Please send an email to Susan L. Burke at firstname.lastname@example.org.
